Scouts go digital with Virgin Money Giving

We’re delighted to announce that the Scout Association has made Virgin Money Giving its preferred fundraising platform, enabling them to promote their fundraising and receive donations online.

The Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. They change lives by offering fun and challenging activities and everyday adventure to children up and down the country. Scouting exists to engage and support young people in their personal development, which empowers them to make a positive contribution to society. Drummond Cox, Leader of 26th Dundee Scout Group said:

Using Virgin Money Giving makes it much easier to share our fundraising activities online and for people to donate. The benefits of fundraising online are clear and the time we save on paperwork is now better spent on planning and participating in fun activities for the Scout Group.”

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts – aged six to 14 – plus Explorer Scouts who are aged up to 18-years-old, develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and resilience.  Jo Barnett, Executive Director of Virgin Money Giving said

Virgin Money Giving is extremely proud to be the preferred fundraising partner of the Scouts. It is great to see the Scouts embracing the concept of raising money online and we hope to make the lives of thousands of Scout volunteers much easier.”

Virgin Money Giving has helped raise over £500 million for charities since launching in 2009. You can make a donation to the Scouting Association today or, if you want to raise money for the Scouts, you can open your own fundraising page.
