Brighton Marathon Aims to Raise £18 Million in New Partnership With Virgin Money Giving

We’re very excited to announce our new three-year partnership with Grounded Events that will see our not-for-profit fundraising website Virgin Money Giving become the official fundraising partner of the Brighton Marathon Weekend.

Brighton Marathon Weekend

The Brighton Marathon Weekend encompasses the Brighton Marathon, the BM10K and Mini Mile Races and since launching, it has raised over £35 million for charity.

As the 2nd largest marathon in the UK, Virgin Money Giving will be helping add another £18 million to this total over the next three years when the official partnership begins after the 2017 event on 9th April.

Tom Naylor, the Managing Director of Grounded Events and Event Director of the Brighton Marathon Weekend said

Working with the team at Virgin Money Giving to make the Brighton Marathon Weekend an even stronger fundraising vehicle is an exciting development

Since launching Virgin Money Giving in 2009, fundraisers have helped raise over £500 million for charities, saving UK charities over £15 million because of their not for profit approach and low fees.

Virgin Money Giving’s Executive Director, Jo Barnett said

The 2018 Brighton Marathon will be the biggest and best yet and Virgin Money Giving will ensure even more money is raised for good causes
