Jordan Gray Haymarket Lounge

Music, Comedy and Pride in our Haymarket Lounge

Our Lounges  love to throw a party, so to celebrate the start of Pride season, the Virgin Money London Haymarket Lounge hosted an evening of music and comedy with star of The Voice, Jordan Gray, with proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Jordan shot to fame on The Voice last year when she joined team Paloma on the BBC talent show and since then has been performing and sharing stories about her life as a transgender artist.

The evening kicked off with an introduction from Virgin Money’s Pride Affinity Rep Joanna Walker who spoke about our work on Diversity & Inclusion before handing over to Jenny Bull who explained the challenges teenagers with cancer face every day, and how the charity are helping to give vital support.

The night then got into full swing with LGBT+ presenter Saski who delighted the audience with her charm and banter. Then the real star of the show took to the stage, performing a breathtaking set of well known hits and delighting the audience with her cheeky stand-up comedy routine. The room was alive with love for Jordan and some lucky guests enjoyed a chat with her afterwards in our downstairs aircraft.

One of our guests at the event said

It’s so good to see something like this happening in London – celebrating Pride needs to be more than just businesses putting up signs and hanging up bunting.

It’s more than just saying “we support Pride”

For Virgin Money it’s more than just saying “we support Pride”, we are continuing our work with  OUTstanding and are building relationships with several LGBT+ organisations to ensure we are  supporting both our internal and external communities. Our own Affinity Pride Network run events for colleagues where we invite speakers from the LGBT+ community to share insights and information on a number of related topics to our colleagues to help broaden understanding and acceptance.

Later this month we will host An Evening with Jordan Gray in our Sheffield Lounge to celebrate Sheffield Pride and again to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. You can get tickets for the event by clicking here.
