Now in its ninth year, the Mind Media Awards celebrates the best portrayals and reporting of mental health issues across TV, radio, print, film and online, culminating in an awards ceremony in November.
Why do we love it?
Mind believes that the best way to tackle any stigma attached to discussing mental health issues is by celebrating those that actively challenge it. The result is a powerful evening that spotlights not just the charity but the issues at its heart.
What’s the secret of its success?
By allowing companies to sponsor each of the 11 categories, Mind can fund an incredible evening and the star power that the ceremony attracts – past hosts include Freddie Flintoff, Jo Brand and the charity’s president Stephen Fry – ensures press coverage that further raises awareness of mental health issues.
