A flipping good start to Virgin Money London Marathon training

It’s Shrove Tuesday, which means Pancake Day to most of us, and what better way to get their marathon training and fundraising off to the best start than with a quick race tossing pancakes as part of their preparations?

The aptly named ‘Bakers Dozen’ – 13 past contestants of the Great British Bake Off have been out in Hyde Park today for a quick sprint with a frying pan and a pancake.

We’ll be keeping an eye on their journey and you can support your own star baker with a donation for their charity through their Virgin Money Giving pages:

The Baker’s Dozen

And finally, if you are running the Virgin Money London Marathon this year and you’ve got a love of pancakes – you might be interested to know there is a Guinness World Record for that! Set back in October 1999, the fastest marathon flipping a pancake was set at 3 hours 2 mins 27 seconds!

Think you can beat that? Find out more about attempting a Guinness World Record.
