Cardiff: British Heart Foundation CPR sessions
15 October @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us at the Virgin Money Cardiff Lounge on Tuesday 15 October for free CPR sessions by the British Heart Foundation in our Community Room. There will be a session at 12:00pm and a session at 1:00pm.
Each year within the UK 30,000 individuals suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest. Shockingly only 1 in 10 of those individuals survive. Within Wales there are 2,800 out of hospital cardiac arrests each year, with less than 280 of those individuals surviving. These are the headlines here with the UK and Wales.
As a result of these shocking numbers BHF researched survival rates in other European countries where the survival rate was around 70%. Findings suggested that the populations within these countries were more confident and competent at performing CPR which is an essential lifesaving skill to increase an individual’s chances of surviving a Cardiac arrest. For every 60 seconds that someone is in Cardiac Arrest and they find themselves in a scenario where nobody has administered CPR their chances of surviving reduce by 10%. We feel by training as many individuals as possible we can help increase the survival rate and reduce the amount of deaths attributed to out of hospital cardiac arrests in our communities.
Pop in on your lunch break but make sure you book you ticket here as spaces are limited.
